Tool Library - Over 4,500 Tools for Loaning
The Rebuilding Together Central Ohio Tool Library is a tool-lending library that is located in Columbus, Ohio. The Tool Library was created by the City of Columbus in 1976, using a Federal Community Development Block Grant. In March 2009, Rebuilding Together Central Ohio took over operation of the library.
The RTCO Tool Library offers over 200 different types of and over 4,500 individual hand and power tools.
Loans to Individuals and Non-Profit Organizations
The library loans tools to individuals and to non-profit organizations. Tools are loaned for periods of 1, 3, or 7 days, depending on the tool.
To Qualify for Membership
To qualify for membership, an individual needs only to live within the specified service area and to be a homeowner. Tenants are able to become library members with the permission of their property owner. Landlords can also borrow tools. There are no income restrictions to being a Tool Library Member.
Non-profit organizations who are working on service projects in the Columbus area can also borrow tools from the Tool Library.
